 Week 9-14: CONSULTATION


Reflecting on the role of consultations in design, especially for large projects, I realize how crucial they are for achieving successful outcomes. Consultations provide invaluable opportunities to gather feedback, refine ideas, and ensure that the design aligns with the client's vision and project goals.

For complex projects, like those involving extensive design work, consultations allow for ongoing dialogue between the designer and the client. This communication helps clarify objectives, address concerns, and adjust the design as needed. Through these interactions, I’ve learned that understanding the client’s needs and expectations is essential for creating a design that truly meets their requirements.

Incorporating tools like 3D modelling and sketching further underscores the importance of consultations. Sketching serves as a preliminary step to visualize and explore design concepts quickly. It allows for rapid iterations and immediate feedback, which is crucial for refining ideas before moving on to more detailed work.

3D modelling takes this a step further by providing a detailed, interactive representation of the design. It helps in visualizing how different elements come together in a three-dimensional space, offering a clearer picture of the final outcome. Consultations during this stage are particularly valuable as they allow for real-time adjustments and detailed discussions about the design's practical aspects.

Overall, consultations are essential for ensuring that a design project progresses smoothly and meets all its objectives. They offer a platform for collaboration, allowing designers to incorporate feedback effectively and make informed adjustments. By integrating sketching and 3D modeling into this process, designers can create more accurate and impactful solutions, ultimately leading to a more successful and satisfying project outcome.

Final Assignment: Textfuseum

FINAL ASSIGNMENT: Textfuseum For Project 3, we put together a complete presentation for the digital museum focused on sustainable textiles in fashion. This task gave me a chance to reflect on everything I’ve learned this semester. From my early sketches and digital designs to creating 3D models in Spatial.io, I was able to fully realize my vision. This project allowed me to showcase my grasp of sustainable fashion and my design ideas to both the client and my peers. I highlighted the standout features of my interactive design, which played a crucial role in my exhibit. The experience of presenting my work was eye-opening. It underscored how much I’ve developed and the progress I’ve made in my skills. I was thrilled with how smoothly the presentation went and felt confident in my ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
